InternConnect is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and empowering social networking platform exclusively for student interns aged 14 to 18 enrolled in the Step-Up program worldwide. Our mission is to foster meaningful connections, facilitate mentorship, and provide a space where young professionals can share experiences, build skills, and grow both personally and professionally.

Who We Are
InternConnect was developed by Ellington “RIXX” Bass Sr., a Coach and Cohort Leader at Step-Up Omaha!, and built by his company, RixxCity Studios. Leveraging deep roots in youth development, technology, and community engagement, our team designed InternConnect to reflect the values of trust, safety, and opportunity inherent in the Step-Up program.
Based in Omaha, Nebraska, RixxCity Studios combines technical innovation with a heart for mentorship, ensuring InternConnect serves as both a technological tool and a community catalyst.
The Story Behind InternConnect
Recognizing the need for a dedicated platform where Step-Up interns could connect beyond their work sites, share experiences, and support each other, Ellington “RIXX” Bass Sr. initiated the development of InternConnect in 2024. What began as a small project quickly grew into a comprehensive social network designed to meet the distinct needs of youth in workforce development programs.
With safety as a cornerstone, the platform was meticulously crafted to comply with youth protection laws like COPPA and FERPA, while also ensuring Nebraska state regulations were fully respected. This commitment to compliance and safety has made InternConnect a trusted space for thousands of interns and program leaders.
